Hilary currently works part time for the NHS as a highly specialist speech and language therapist in West Sussex. The majority of her present NHS work is with children with autism, learning difficulties, and stutters/stammers. Since qualifying, Hilary has worked with pre-school and school-aged children with a range of speech, language and communication difficulties including: speech and language delay and disorder, stammering, selective mutism and communication difficulties associated with learning difficulties or autism. She has worked in a variety of settings including homes, clinics, nurseries, mainstream and special schools.
Hilary is trained and experienced in a range of interventions including the Lidcombe Programme for children who stammer, the Picture Exchange Communication System (PECS), the Derbyshire Language Scheme and Parent-Child Interaction. She is experienced in providing training and workshops for parents/carers, teaching staff and nursery staff on a variety of topics related to communication.
Chris currently works part time for the NHS in Wiltshire as a specialist speech and language therapist working with children with learning difficulties, children who stammer, and with a general paediatric caseload. He qualified from the University of Sheffield where he was awarded the MMedSci prize for best overall degree performance. Since then Chris has worked with children in clinics, mainstream schools, nurseries and a special school for children with physical and learning difficulties. He has worked with children with a wide range of communication difficulties including speech sound difficulties, language delay and disorder, and communication difficulties associated with learning difficulties or autism.
Chris has provided a range of training and workshops for parents and teachers. He is trained and experienced in a number of interventions including Brief Solution Focused Therapy, Swindon Fluency Groups, Narrative therapy and the Derbyshire Language Scheme.
